ABOUT PHILLCO
The PhillCo Economic Growth Council is a citizen-driven nonprofit organized in 1986 and based in Phillips County, Montana. The mission is to assist in improving the economic stability of the Phillips County area and the standard of living of its residents. To provide leadership in the county relative to the retention and creation of jobs with expanded wealth of our residents and tax revenue for the communities.
PhillCo provides many services such as technical assistance to new and exisiting businesses, grant writing and management of the Phillips County Community Fund. READ MORE
The Malta Business and Industry Development District (MBIDD) is located at the county seat of Malta. The former airport site features 133 acres and 31 lots available for development. The MBIDD is owned by the City of Malta and managed by the PhillCo Economic Growth Council. PhillCo has entered a 99 year lease agreement with the City of Malta which allows PhillCo to sell/lease lots as needed to businesses that support economic development in Phillips County.
Electricity is provided by Northwestern Energy and natural gas by Montana-Dakota Utilities. City of Malta water and sewer is available on-site. Opportunity Drive provides direct and easy access to US HWY 191. Access to US HWY 2 and Burlington-Northern Railway is less than one mile away. Life in Phillips County
Phillips County includes approximately 1.6 million acres of public land (state and federal) mingled with 1.6 million acres of private land. Land use in the county is mainly farming and ranching with mineral activity. The population of Phillips County is approximately 4,253.

Keystone XL Pipeline Advocacy
The PhillCo Economic Growth Council supports the efforts of TransCanada to construct the Keystone XL Pipeline that will run through Phillips County, Montana.
The Keystone XL Pipeline will create jobs and increase the local tax base. PhillCo has drafted a letter to Montana's Congressional delegation thanking them for their continued support of the Pipeline.
We'd like to encourage Phillips County Residents that support the Keystone XL Pipeline to send a letter as well.

"Building Saskatchewan's Western Trade Corridor" is a business case commissioned by "Community Future's Southwest" of Swift Current, SK
The documents makes the case to bring HWY #4 on the Saskatchewan side of the border up to primary weight status and develop commercial border services at the Port of Morgan/Monchy fifty miles north of Malta.
